At Calvary Christian School, we believe that physical activity is an important part of life-long health. As such, we encourage athletic participation at all grade levels and have multiple opportunities throughout each year for students to be part of a team.

Calvary’s athletic teams provide students with the opportunity to develop their God-given abilities while encouraging Christ-like character during competition. Young men compete in soccer, basketball, and baseball, while the ladies participate in volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Calvary competes in the South Carolina Associations for Christian School league for Junior Varsity and High School Sports.
Our fifth- through eighth-grade students compete locally against private schools. This is a great opportunity for our younger athletes to develop sport skills without having to travel long distances.
We offer a several opportunities for our younger students to develop sports skills. Elementary students compete in basketball in the winter and soccer in the spring for our second through fourth grade. These teams are both interscholastic and intramural.
Students in K4 through second grade have the opportunity to participate in Jump Start Sports. Jump Start is a learning program designed to teach the fundamentals of sport in a fun and safe atmosphere. Soccer, basketball, tennis, and baseball are offered throughout the school year and during the summer, led by Kathy Anderson. For more information, view and download the brochure here.
Calvary is proud to offer a growing archery program for interested fourth through 12th graders. Practices are are held throughout the week in the mornings and afternoons, with occasional practices on Saturday mornings. Bows, arrows, and targets are provided. The team was able to compete in several 3D and 10/15 meter tournaments during the 2023-2024 school year after adding 3D target practice to the program two years ago. During the 2023-2024 season, the team competed at three regional tournaments, and a handful of archers qualified for the state tournament in Sumter, with one archer qualifying for nationals for the second year in a row! The team is coached by NASP-certified archery instructors Kathy Anderson and Ashley Warner. Archery is also offered as an Arts and Activities After School program throughout the year.
